Tune In To Roald Dahl’s Books

This is a treat for those who are “uber” fanatics to magical novels. As you all know, Roald Dahl is one of the most popular fantasy fictional writer ever written in history. Some of his best masterpieces has been landed on screen. I’m pretty sure you don’t forget Matilda or James and the Giant Peach movies.

Check out other Dahl’s greatest novels. Bring it along during one of your weekend slumber parties – or even during recess! – and aim for straight As just in case your teacher asks you about those stuffs.

George’s Marvellous Medicine

George Kranky’s grandmother is scrawny, grumpy and, well, cranky. One day, George is tasked to make sure grandma takes her medicine (Yuck!). Tired of her frequent scolding, George decides to seek revenge by concocting his one brew of his grandma’s medicine – which includes chili sauce, nail polish, brown paint, pig pills and other icky stuff he finds in the house. What will happen when his grandma takes a spoonful? Get a copy and read to find out more.

The Witches

Unlike the usual description of witches in fairy tales, real witches do not wear pointy hats, ride brooms and have frizzy, scary hairdos. But real witches do dislike children very, very much. Thus is the explanation of the Boy’s Grandmother, who becomes his guardian after his parents die tragically in a car crash. Unfortunately, the Boy stumbles into a witches’ convention and transforms into a mouse, but with the help of his wise, clever Grandmother, they are able to make the world a happier, witch-free place for children.

Going Solo

This is the sequel to Roald Dahl’s first autobiography, Boy. You’ll find yourself envying Dahl’s African escapades. Much like the characters in his novels, Dahl finds himself in quirky, weird and amazing circumstances – such as a plane crash, a war and lions. As an added bonus, this book is also packed with photographs of Dahl and his adventures.

The BFG

What does BFG stand for? Bacon, Fries and Gin? Batman, the Flash and Green Lantern? Beg Fearless Giraffe? Big Friendly Giant, that’s what. Unlike other Giants who eat boys and girls for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the BFG is actually Sohie’s best friend. He’s a funny, gentle giant who likes children and uses whimsical words such as “gloriumptious” and “disgusterous”. Together, Sophie and the BFG brave the battle of the Giants to make the world a little more kid-friendly.
